Something that I've found out

Hi everyone! Today in my blog I am going to introduce you to the magic of pilates.

First, you have to know, that in all my life I have never been a lot into sports. The class of physical education in school was like the worst moment in the week. I could run five minutes and I remember feeling that my heart was going to explote. Despite of this, I was always trying to find a sport that made me feel good, most of all for a matter of health.
One day I was going to the gym, and there it was a class outside, on the grass. There were a lot of people on the floor with big balls doing an exercise that looked very relax so I get into the class. When I finished I realized that I had exercise all my body, including the last finger of my foot, and it didnt felt any terrible. Despite of that it felt so good, I felt all my body calm, stretched and healthy. After that day I started to go about three times a week, and the changed even on my mood was amazing. I was sleeping better, studying better, everything in my life was better,
So, I invite you all to meet the pilates, its not just a sport or physical training, its a dicipline that makes your life feel easier and happier

My Blogging Experience

Hi, today i’m going to talk you about my writing blogs experience in this webside.

I started writting in this webside for my English Class in my university.

I think this was a great experience where I could show to other people my opinion about a lot of topics. Here, I could develop my redaction and writing skills, also I could learn about this famous webside where you can find the opinion of many people around the world, like your friends, classmate and also famous people.

In the future, I would like to include to this subject the possibility to learn about other webside where you can write your opinion, or maybe we can watch videos on youtube and then tell our opinion about it in this blog.

In the future, maybe I could write about my college experience. I can tell to other dentistry students about what I’m learnig, tips, books, anecdotes. Also, I can write about my dog haha I love her, she is very funny and intelligent, and I have a lot of story about her.

By last, I would like to thank to my teacher, Eric, for have the patient to teach us and tell us a lot of tips for our blogs. This was a great experience. Now I would continue writing haha

The Subject that i've enjoyed in autumn semester

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today i’m going to talk about my favorite subject in this semester. First of all, this semester I’ve studied 5 subjects and all of them are difficult but not impossible. The subject than I’ve enjoyed more is Simulacion. In this subject we have to hide a treatment for our patients, after we made a diagnostic and learned the theoretical part. This subject isn’t always done in a classroom, we have to go to ‘’preclinico’’, wich is a like a clinical box where you have your patient (or ‘’tipodonto with the fantoma’’) and your dental instrumental like the turbine, the micromotor and the eyector.

In this subject, we have to see the practical area of all the dentistry’s areas like periodontics, Occlusion, Operatoria, Endodontics, etc. For example, now we are in Operatoria and we are doing cavities and restorations with resin and amalgam. Before this, we learned about Periodontics disease and that was funny.

I’ve enjoyed this subject because It is the closest to the dentistry like a profession. With this subject I could ensure than I am studyind the correct thing. I enjoy everyday than I have this subject, although is four days at week at 8.30am. Something it is frustrating, but worth it.

Someone I admire in my field

Someone I admire in my field

Hi! Today i'm going to talk about one person who i admire. He is the Dr Greene Vardiman Black. He was born near Winchester on 1836 and is known as one of the founders of modern dentistry in the United States. He studied dentistry for 20 months!! (as was common at the time, today we have to study 6 years minimum) followed by an apprenticeship.
He is known as the father of operative dentistry. His works more important was a research about ideal cavity preparation.

With his investigations horganized 'Black's Classification of Caries Lesions', a classification based on the tooth type and the cavity location or tooth surfaces involve, which is still in use today (we use in our university!!). Since that time, only one more category has been added to his classification system.

Personally, i think than Dr Greene opened us a huge world of dentistry knowledge. Also, he  gave us tools to have a mundial organization about caries lesions. For example, with his Classification today we can do studies in different parts of the world about caries lesions and all this studies can be understood by anyone.

We dont have to forget this importants persons, because thanks to them, today, practice the dentistry is a little easier and more complete than old times.

The Truth or to feel good

The truth or to feel good?

Something we are in the posicion of having to decide between say the truth (and this is going to feel bad the person) or say something than will feel good. In my opinion, this depends in the situation than you are, because you can't say something than will feel good to the person and, in the same way, this is going to generate bad consequences. For example, if a friend show you his thesis and this is wrong, you can not tell him this is good (with the goal of feel him good) in this case you are obliged to tell him the truth because if you don't do this, he will fail his examen.

On the other side, you have the situation than your best friend broke with his boyfriendand you only have to tell her good things because she is sad. You dont have to say than all is her fault and things like that, you only have to support her is this terrible situation.

So... all depend of the situation. I hope you can understand my opinion

XOXO :))))

Someday...

Postgraduate course

In dentistry, you have many option to study after having a professional title. You could study something related to kids, to periodontal disease, endodontic disease, etc. I would like to take a degree course called maxillofacial Surgery.  Maxillofacial surgery specializes in treating many diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the Oral and Maxillofacial region. I would like to study this degree course in Universidad de Chile, because is one of the best university in Latinoamerica.

Obviously, I prefer study this course face-to-face/presence, because this speciality involves a lot of manual technique, like surgical techniques, therefore its better to have face classes with bodies study. But, i prefer study the theoretical part online because is faster than study in classes, because you comes with knowledge ready and you only get to practice

Maxillofacial Surgery is one of the most difficult specialities in dentistry because you have to learn about all the body, not only the head. But, in my opinion, it is one of the most entertaining postgraduate course, because you could do a lot of different things in one pacient and you can fix the life of her/his.

I wish to study this specialities someday.

Dancer

My dream job:

When i was a child, i dreamed about being a dancer. Althoug it is a indoor job, i think it is wonderful, because you have to conect and have control of all your body.
A dancer could  travel a lot  if she is part of a famous dance’s company. In chile it is difficult to find an international famous company because in this country the artistics jobs are not so well seen. So, most of chilean dancer only dance in Chile.

A dancer can work in theaters, festivals, on the street, on parks, etc. They work in a lot of places but not in an office, because they are always practicing, moving, elongating or learning a choreografy.

For being a dancer, you must  study Dance at the university, like Universidad de Chile, or in an  institute, like Jose Luis Tejo Academy. There, you have to learn about the dance’s history and  anatomy because you might injure your muscles, joints and/or bones. You have to learn all dance’s styles because you have to be a dancer with all the dance’s knowledge to  be the best in the area.

I am a little disappointed of Chile, because the government doesn’t value the art. For example, this year, dance’s students of Universidad de Chile protested for good installations and more space for their presentations. They even dont have space for theoretical classes. This is unacceptable.

I hope than in a future, the artistic jobs will be value, because being an artist also demand a lot of effort.

Smile

.

Hi, today i'm going to talk to you about Dentistry :)

Dentistry is a profession that cares about oral healthy. This is a complicated
profession because the dentist has to mixes the scientific with the art. The people who cares about oral healthy have an important role on the life of their patients, because the mouth is one of the first thing that another person will look on them, so the dentist will help with the self esteem of many people.

The oral cavity contains many diseases that can be prevented with good hygiene. In this case, the dentist helps in teaching their patients good oral hygiene techniques for an ideal oral health.

In my opinion, this profession is one the best profession in the world. You can build a close relation with your patients and you can change their life on 180º. Also, you can fix many physical and mental diseases. Therefore, be a dentist learn you to be a better persons with values and ethic.

(The bad side is that you have to read many papers :c)

A magnific trip

My best holidays

Last summer I traveled to the north of Chile, specifically Calama and San Pedro de Atacama, and also i traveled to Uyuni, Bolivia. I was there around 2 weeks.

I took a plane to Calama with my best friends: Joaquin, Christian and Sofìa. We were so excited because we organized this traveled 5 month ago.

We arrived at Calama and after we took a bus to San Pedro de Atacama. We camped there around 5 days and we visited a lot of magics places, like Valle de la Luna, Valle de la Muerte and Pucará de Quitor. The best of all was than we went to this places on bike,

After, we traveled by bus to Uyuni, a little tourist city in the south of Bolivia. Our objective was to get to know the famous Salar de Uyuni, a wonderful place when you can take amazings pictures. In the city we ate meat of llama, a typical plate on Bolivia. After two days in the city, we paid for a tour to the Salar. The experience was unique. We took pictures all the time because the scene was unbelievable.

After that, we returned to San Pedro we got to know other places like Geyser Del Tatio, where the temperature on the morning is around -8ºC, and Laguna Cejar, a salty lagoon when you can float.

Then, we unfortunately returned to Santiago. This were the best vacations because i knew a lot of places with the best travelmates.
